HCMC – A group of 200 Uzbek travelers has arrived in the south-central coastal province of Khanh Hoa on a charter flight, marking the beginning of regular charter flights to the destination with a frequency of one flight per week.
Nguyen Thi Le Thanh, director of the Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism, said that the flight landed at Cam Ranh International Airport on June 29. Among the passengers were 30 representatives of Pegas Misr Travel Vietnam, who came to explore tourism products in Khanh Hoa and elsewhere in Vietnam.
The Uzbek tourists will be staying at local hotels and resorts for a duration of 10 to 28 days. This marks the first group of Uzbek travelers brought to Vietnam by Pegas Misr Travel Vietnam, a travel company specializing in the Russian and Central Asian markets.
Prior to expanding its market to Uzbekistan, Pegas Misr Travel Vietnam had collaborated with partners to operate flights from the cities of Almaty and Astana to Cam Ranh City.
Hoang Thi Phong Thu, chairwoman of Pegas Misr Travel Vietnam, said that the company had started exploring new markets due to disruptions in the Russian market. Since October 2022, the company has brought around 20,000 Kazakh visitors to Nha Trang City. Following the success of the first charter flight to Khanh Hoa on June 29, more Uzbek travelers are expected to come, with one flight per week.
Previously, the company had explored the Uzbekistan market, but the number of travelers was small, often joining Russian travelers on non-stop flights from Russia to Cam Ranh City.
