Vietcap Securities CEO’s wife plans to sell 13.2 million shares

HCMC – Truong Nguyen Thien Kim, the wife of To Hai, general director of Vietcap Securities JSC, has registered to sell 13.2 million VCI shares.

The sale is scheduled to take place between September 4 and October 3 through either block deals or order-matching transactions.

Kim currently holds over 22.8 million shares, equivalent to 5.17% of Vietcap’s charter capital. If the sale goes through, her ownership would drop to around 9.6 million shares, or 2.18%, making her no longer a major shareholder.

VCI shares have risen 15% since early August. At the close on August 28, VCI was closed at VND47,700 per share, down by 0.73% over the previous session. Based on this price, Kim is expected to obtain around VND629.6 billion from the sale.

The VN-Index ended slightly higher today, gaining 0.88 point, or 0.07%, to close at 1,281.44 points, with 168 winners and 225 losers.

Trading volume improved by 8.6% over the previous session, with 717.6 million shares valued at VND16.33 trillion. Block deals accounted for 59.4 million shares worth VND1.48 trillion.

The VN30-Index, which tracks the 30 largest-cap stocks, rose by 1.26 points, or 0.1%, to 1,325.54 points. The VN30 basket saw an equal number of gainers and decliners, with 13 bluechips advancing and 13 others dipping.

GVR was the top gainer in the basket, rising by 2% to VND35,650 per share, with 4.32 million shares traded. On the downside, VRE was the biggest loser, dropping by 2.74% to VND19,500 per share, with 12.58 million shares traded.

Developer DIG took the lead by liquidity with a matching volume of over 41.9 million shares, but it lost 3.99% to VND24,050 per share.

On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index dropped by 0.29%, or 0.68 point, to 238.23 points, with 60 stocks rising and 88 declining. Total trading volume on the HNX reached 57.6 million shares worth VND1.11 trillion.
