HCMC – Vietjet, which trades its VJC shares on the Hochiminh Stock Exchange, saw its revenue in the second quarter rising by 15% compared to the pre-pandemic same period, supported by the rising summer travel demand.

With its 53 air routes, the low-cost airline’s revenue from passenger transport reached over VND11.3 trillion between April and June, while its after-tax profit amounted to VND36 billion.

Its consolidate revenue totaled VND11.59 trillion in the second quarter of 2022.

In the first half of the year, the domestic carrier reported VND14.7 trillion in passenger transport revenue, while posting a consolidated profit of VND426 billion, the local media reported.

In the first six months of the year, the airline operated 52,500 flights to transport nine million passengers, up 54% and 92% year-on-year, respectively.

In the second quarter alone, the airline operated around 33,000 flights and transported six million passengers and over 11,000 tons of cargo.

With an aim to bolster the post-pandemic partnership between Vietnam and many other countries and meet the huge travel demand, Vietjet has opened multiple new air services to India, South Korea and Japan.
