HCMC – Vietnam Airlines will add flights on eight routes connecting the country with Japan and South Korea from May 15.

The national flag carrier will revise weekly flights on each of the air routes between HCMC/Hanoi and Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya in Japan by one or two, raising its total weekly flights from Hanoi and HCMC to Japan’s three major cities to 25-30.

The airline will restart air services between Danang and Tokyo on July 1, the local media reported.

As for the Vietnam-South Korea routes, the carrier will increase the flight frequency on each of the HCMC/Hanoi-Seoul routes by three or four per week. After the increase, each day will see one flight on the routes connecting HCMC and Hanoi to Seoul.

The carrier is also set to restart air services between Hanoi and Busan, and from Danang to Seoul on June 1, while resuming the route linking HCMC and Busan on July 1. Three or four weekly flights will be launched on each of these routes.

To meet rising travel demand, the carrier will use wide-body Boeing 787 aircraft for these flights.
