HCMC – Vietnam has set a goal of increasing total retail sales revenue from goods and services by an average of 11-11.5% per year through 2030.
Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son signed Decision No. 2326/QD-TTg on October 21, approving the retail market development strategy until 2030, with a vision toward 2050, the Vietnam News Agency reported.
The strategy aims to develop a modern and sustainable retail market aligned with domestic trade policy and Vietnam’s international commitments. It also seeks to adapt to trends in e-commerce, digital economy, green economy, and sharing economy.
E-commerce revenue is targeted to grow by 15-20% annually and account for 15-20% of the country’s total retail and consumer service revenue by 2030. The Government expects 40-45% of small and medium-sized enterprises to participate in online platforms.
The plan also focuses on linking production and consumption, boosting domestic demand, and promoting Vietnamese products in overseas markets. It aims to raise the competitiveness of local goods and help domestic retailers expand globally.
Vietnam will continue improving retail market policy and the business environment to support innovation and fair competition among enterprises.
