HCMC – Vietnam and Finland have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to establish a labor migration partnership, according to Vietnam’s Ministry of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs (MOLISA).

The agreement, signed by Vietnam’s Minister of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung and Finland’s Minister of Employment Arto Olavi Satonen, aims to create a framework for sending skilled and seasonal workers from Vietnam to Finland in compliance with the laws and resources of both countries.

Effective from 2025 to 2030, the MOU emphasizes ensuring fair working conditions and preventing labor exploitation.

MOLISA noted that since late 2023, it has approved three companies to send 134 Vietnamese workers, including 65 women, to Finland. So far, 55 workers have started jobs, earning monthly salaries ranging from €1,500 to €2,000.

Minister Satonen highlighted Finland’s commitment to expanding cooperation with Vietnam, connecting businesses and professionals. He emphasized opportunities in sectors such as technology, industry, and healthcare while underscoring Finland’s efforts to support both employers and workers.

From January 13 to 15, Satonen is leading a delegation to Hanoi City and HCMC to explore further collaboration. The delegation includes the mayor of Helsinki and leaders from major companies and labor market organizations.
