HCMC – Vietnamese leaders have sent their congratulations to Donald Trump on his election as President of the U.S.

Following Trump’s re-election as 47th President of the United States, Party General Secretary To Lam, State President Luong Cuong, and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sent their congratulatory messages to President-elect Trump today, October 7.

Vietnam’s leaders affirmed that Vietnam regards the U.S. as a strategically important partner.

They all expressed confidence that, with the solid foundation built over nearly three decades and the strong support of President Donald Trump during his first term and his new term, the Vietnam-U.S. comprehensive strategic partnership will continue to grow deeply, effectively, and sustainably, for the benefit and aspirations of the people of both nations and for peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the region and the world.

On the same day, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan also sent a congratulatory message to Vice President-elect James David Vance.

Trump secured the presidency by winning a number of battleground states, defeating Democratic candidate Kamala Harris. He is the first U.S. president in a century to serve two non-consecutive terms.
