Vietnam receives 1.5 million Pfizer vaccine doses

HCMC – Vietnam took delivery of 1.5 million more Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine doses this morning, September 12, at a time when new daily cases are rising, the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology (NIHE) reported.

The country has administered over 258.6 million vaccine doses, including to children from age 5. Of them, all people aged 18 and above have got the first two primary doses, while 77.3% of them received the third shots, and 78.8% have been given the fourth shots.

Teenagers 12 to 17 have been fully inoculated, but only over half of them have received a booster.

Over 16.1 million doses have been administered to children 5 to 11. Of them, over 9.6 million received the first doses and some nearly 6.5 million got the second shots.

According to the World Health Organization, vaccinations are important to stop the spread of the Covid pandemic.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health urged localities to step up Covid vaccinations and practice the 2K protocol, which means masking and hand washing.
