HCMC – Two Vietnamese returnees from Russia and France have been confirmed positive for Covid-19, sending Vietnam’s case count to 1,212 as of yesterday evening, November 6, said the Health Ministry.
The new patients were transported to quarantine facilities upon their arrival in the country.
Of them, a 54-year-old resident of Hanoi flew home from Russia on October 31 on Flight VN5062, which landed at Van Don airport in northern Quang Ninh Province. He is under medical treatment at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Hanoi.
The other patient, aged 50, is a resident of HCMC. On October 21, she entered Vietnam from France through HCMC’s Tan Son Nhat airport and was taken to quarantine center in the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau. She is being treated in a medical center in this province.
To date, 1,069 coronavirus patients in the country have fully recovered, while 35 others have died of the infectious disease.
