HCMC – A German expert and a Vietnamese returnee have tested positive for Covid-19, taking the country’s tally to 1,107 as of tonight, October 10, according to the Ministry of Health.
A 33-year-old man, who lives in Haiphong City, returned to Vietnam from Russia through Can Tho International Airport on September 26 and was immediately sent to a centralized quarantine center in Bac Lieu Province. He is being treated at Bac Lieu General Hospital.
Another patient, a 33-year-old German expert, arrived at HCMC-based Tan Son Nhat International Airport from Germany’s Frankfurt City on October 8. After her arrival, she was quarantined at the Norfolk Hotel requisitioned as concentrated quarantine center in District 1.
Her test result came back positive for Covid-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus, on October 9. She is receiving treatment at the Cu Chi Field Hospital.
Up to now, 1,024 Covid-19 patients in Vietnam have fully recovered, while 35 others have died. Among the remaining active Covid-19 cases, 20 patients have tested negative for Covid-19 one to three times.
