HCMC – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said Vietnam is committed to fostering a favorable environment for foreign investment and views the successes of international firms as integral to its own development.
Speaking at a recent meeting with Guy Bradley, chairman of John Swire & Sons Limited, in Hanoi, PM Chinh stressed that the Government protects and upholds the rights and legitimate interests of foreign investors.
The prime minister commended the UK-headquartered company’s efforts to increase its investment in Vietnam. He urged the firm to broaden its operations across several fields, including aviation, trade, logistics, real estate, and healthcare.
Bradley highlighted his company’s commitments to promoting sustainable development, green growth, and circular economy in Vietnam. The group has plans to expand its investments, especially in aviation and healthcare, he added.
Swire Group has been operational in Vietnam since 1988. In January, its subsidiary Swire Coca-Cola Limited purchased Coca-Cola Beverages Vietnam Co. Ltd. Bradley said the acquisition has increased the company’s employment in Vietnam to 2,000 direct and 20,000 indirect jobs.
