HCMC – The ongoing anti-corruption drive is not hindering economic growth but rather contributing to it, said Party General Secretary and President To Lam during a meeting of the Central Steering Committee for combating corruption and related misconduct in Hanoi on August 14.
The committee said Vietnam’s intensified anti-corruption efforts are yielding significant results, laying a solid foundation for robust socioeconomic development.
Disciplinary actions have been taken against 308 Party organizations and 11,005 Party members implicated in corruption. Authorities have successfully recovered substantial amounts of stolen assets, including over VND71.4 billion and 24.9 hectares of land in the first half of 2024.
Between January and June, the number of investigations into corruption cases increased by 841 compared to the same period in 2023, signaling a strong stance against corruption at all levels, officials noted.
Vietnam has reinforced oversight and introduced new anti-corruption measures to prevent future misconduct. Party General Secretary and President To Lam stressed the critical role of corruption prevention in achieving the nation’s socioeconomic development goals.
