Vietnam’s Covid case count fall extends

HCMC – The Ministry of Health this evening, April 21, reported 12,029 new daily cases of Covid-19, falling 1,242 cases against the day earlier.

Hanoi as the biggest hotspot reported 986 new cases, followed by Phu Tho with 836, Quang Ninh with 550, Bac Giang with 550 and Nghe An with 511.

Today, the Dak Nong Department of Health registered to add 18,545 earlier-detected cases to the national Covid monitoring system.

Nearly 8,700 patients were declared free of Covid, sending the country’s total recoveries to nearly 9.1 million. Nine Covid deaths were reported in eight provinces.

The Information Technology Department under the Ministry of Health has informed that nearly one million Vietnamese people had received Covid vaccine passports as of April 20.

Nguyen Ba Hung, deputy director of the medical data center under the Information Technology Department, said the vaccine passports would be valid for 12 months since the date of issuance.

The vaccine passports have been made available on the mobility and health declaration app PC-Covid or So suc khoe dien tu (electronic health record).

The Ministry of Health has also asked the relevant agencies to review, amend and supplement the inaccurate and missed information of residents before April 30.

Heads of vaccination units will take responsibility if the vaccination data of residents is inaccurate.
