HCMC – Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met Tim Cook, chief executive officer of Apple Inc., at the Government Office in Hanoi today, April 16.
PM Chinh said he was glad to meet Cook for the second time and thanked the CEO of the iPhone manufacturer for accepting his invitation to visit Vietnam.
He highlighted Apple’s business expansion in the country and the creation of over 200,000 jobs for Vietnamese.
In order to advance the Vietnam-U.S. comprehensive strategic partnership, the PM said he is looking forward to continued support from Apple for green growth, green production, renewable energy, wind power, solar energy, and human resource development.
PM Chinh said that the Government would establish a working team to ensure the operations of Apple in Vietnam are effective.
During the meeting, Cook talked about his wonderful experience in Hanoi where he has received a warm welcome from local residents. He also expressed his pleasure to see Vietnam’s innovation community growing strongly over time.
Cook highly appreciated the PM’s presentation of Vietnam’s development orientations and objectives and expressed his hope to further promote high-quality cooperation and investment in Vietnam.
