An international MICE facility has been commissioned with a total area of 22,000sq.m in Binh Duong Province – an economic powerhouse in southern Vietnam.
The WTC Binh Duong New City Expo (WTC Expo), to be inaugurated on August 8, 2022, is a promising new facility within the MICE community in Southeast Asia and acts as an ideal venue for some of the largest trade shows, exhibitions and events.
The WTC Expo is located at the heart of Vietnam’s first World Trade Complex, a 165,000sq.m area in Binh Duong Province with modern infrastructure and good connectivity to the surrounding region. The complex once in full steam will include many residential and commercial buildings, multi-purpose stadiums, shopping malls, and a metro station connecting to Ho Chi Minh City.
The WTC Expo is a column-free facility specially built for hosting MICE-related events. It has a total construction area of 22,000sq.m, including an indoor exhibition area of 15,000 sq.m consisting of three halls.
Although Vietnam has boasted one of the highest economic growth rates in the world, it has been seen as lacking in facilities for international MICE events. Accordingly, the WTC Expo is expected to help address the short supply of exhibition facilities and will become a driving force for a new leap forward in Vietnam’s MICE industry.
Binh Duong Province is the economic powerhouse in Vietnam’s Southern Key Economic Region. The economic powerhouse is home to more than 4,000 FDI projects with total investment capital of nearly US$40 billion, and records the highest per-capita monthly income in Vietnam, at over VND7.12 million in 2021. It is because Binh Duong Province has been developed as an “innovation region”, encompassing residential complexes, universities, hospitals, and other social infrastructure facilities, along with more than 30 large-scale industrial parks.
In Vietnam, there is a MICE business entry barrier for overseas organizers as they are required to undergo complicated administrative procedures when applying for exhibition permits. However, now with the introduction of WTC Binh Duong New City, the process is easier as they provide a one-stop service for overseas organizers to host their events at the WTC Expo.
WTC Binh Duong also provides supporting services in terms of administrative procedures and market research through cooperating with relevant government agencies when overseas organizers want to hold their shows at the WTC Expo.
The facility operator also is ready to partner with overseas organizers that wish to enhance their business efficiency in Vietnam, but do not have a sales department or agency in the country. This partnership helps organizers launch local sales activities and on-site exhibition operations and minimizes the risks for overseas organizers when holding exhibitions.
