Vinamilk donates nearly 170,000 dairy products to Central Vietnam’s Covid-19 hotspots

HCMC – Vinamilk, Vietnam’s leading dairy producer, has promptly lent a helping hand to Danang, Quang Nam and Quang Ngai, the three central localities that are fighting the resurgence of Covid-19 infections, by donating almost 170,000 dairy products to the areas on lockdown there.

On July 31, the dairy firm transported the nutritional items to the affected areas to support frontline healthcare workers, Covid-19 patients and residents in quarantined locations, including the three major hospitals of Danang City—Danang Hospital, Hospital C Danang and Danang Orthopedic and Rehabilitation Hospital.

These hospitals are providing treatment to thousands of patients being quarantined in tough conditions with a high risk of exposure to community spread. Healthcare workers have been working round the clock at the hospitals in an attempt to bring the Covid-19 outbreak under control and take care of patients concurrently. These Covid-19 frontline soldiers are in need of encouragement and support from the community to overcome this challenging time.

Tran Thi My Binh, director of Vinamilk Danang, said, “Vinamilk has two subordinate units in this central city, including the Danang Branch and the Danang Dairy Factory. Vinamilk employees in the city are implementing social distancing and Covid-19 preventive measures, but they still made great efforts to ensure that all of the dairy products were given to the local residents.”

Through this donation, Vinamilk hoped that the competent forces, local residents and healthcare workers in the lockdown areas would stay healthy, both physically and mentally, and keep their immune system strong to be able to combat the disease.

When the pandemic was raging in the country months ago, Vinamilk had joined the Government’s programs to offer dairy products to healthcare frontliners in HCMC, Hanoi, and support Bach Mai Hospital in Hanoi when it was put on lockdown to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus. The dairy firm had donated over VND30 billion to back the country’s efforts to contain the pandemic.
