HCMC – Conglomerate Vingroup has purchased a Triton DeepView 24 submarine for Vinpearl Nha Trang Resort to offer guests an underwater experience at Hon Tre Island, off Nha Trang City.
The Triton DeepView 24 can take 24 passengers to depths of up to 100 meters and provides views of the ocean from its panoramic windows. The 15.4-meter-long air-conditioned interior is large enough to stand up in.
The submarine was manufactured by Triton Submarines Company, which is famous for the Limiting Factor submersible that last year made a record-breaking dive to the deepest point in the planet’s oceans, the Challenger Deep in the Mariana Trench, 10,927 meters beneath the surface.
The Florida-based Triton noted in a statement that DeepView 24 is “the most significant commercial tourism submersible to be brought to market in the past two decades,” adding that it “was developed in response to the rise in demand from travelers and tourists alike for adventure and experience-based holidays.”
Bruce Jones, co-founder and CEO of Triton Submarines, remarked, “The Triton DeepView 24 with its panoramic views represents a quantum leap forward in submarine technology, providing a vastly improved, fully immersive guest experience.
“A DeepView experience is terrific for encouraging guests to promote environmental stewardship after directly experiencing the seafloor environment.”
The Triton DeepView 24 submarine was assembled at Triton’s manufacturing facility in Barcelona, where it successfully passed sea trials in March, according to DailyMail. It is due to operate ticketed dives for Vinpearl Nha Trang Resort’s guests in December.
