HCMC – Phu Quoc Express JSC said it will suspend the Vung Tau-Con Dao express ferry service from September 3 for routine maintenance until further notice, reported the Vietnam News Agency.

The service was halted for the Thang Long vessel’s annual maintenance, with operations scheduled to resume in December this year.

This is currently the only sea route carrying passengers between Vung Tau and Con Dao. During the suspension of the Thang Long vessel, travelers can still reach Con Dao by sea via the Tran De-Con Dao route from Can Tho, which continues to operate daily.

The Vung Tau-Con Dao high-speed ferry, launched on March 9 last year, can carry over 1,000 passengers and travel at up to 35 nautical miles per hour. The 77-meter-long vessel has shortened the Vung Tau-Con Dao trip to less than four hours.
