HCMC – In response to the potential risks posed by super typhoon Yagi, the railway sector has announced to suspend multiple train services.
According to the Vietnam Railways Corporation, services on the following routes will be halted between September 7 and 12:
Hanoi-Haiphong route: Trains LP5, HP2, LP8, and LP7 on September 7, and trains HP1 and LP2 on September 8.
Hanoi-Vinh route: Trains NA1 and NA2 on September 7.
Hanoi-HCMC route: Train SE11 departing from Hanoi on September 9 and 10, and train SE12 departing from Saigon Railway Station on September 11 and 12.
Passengers with tickets for the affected trains will be eligible for refunds or can reschedule their trips to other trains without incurring any additional fees.
Earlier, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) announced the temporary closure of four airports in northern Vietnam—Van Don, Cat Bi, Noi Bai and Tho Xuan—due to the approaching typhoon.
