HCMC – A fire caused by the burning of votive paper killed four people, including three former students of Thuy Loi University, on February 4.
Vuong Thai Duong, secretary of the Party Committee of Khuong Thuong Ward, said at 1:30 p.m., the fire broke out at a house on Tam Khuong Street, Khuong Thuong Ward, Dong Da District, Hanoi City, rented by four people to live and sell products online, the local media reported.
On the morning of the same day, they invited a friend over for a meal. At around 12 p.m., they burned votive paper as offerings to the Kitchen God, a tradition before the Lunar New Year holiday of the Vietnamese people, in front of the house.
