HCMC – HCMC and five provinces of the Central Highlands region have cut a deal to boost sustainable socio-economic development until 2025.

The deal is aimed at unlocking the potential of these localities to create value, contributing to the region’s socio-economic development and forming a link for enterprises in these provinces and the city to promote cooperation.

HCMC and Kon Tum Province will team up to develop renewable energy and tourism and build economic and industrial clusters.

In addition, the city will collaborate with Gia Lai Province to drive up the hi-tech agriculture, processing industry, tourism and renewable energy sectors.

As for the cooperation with Daklak Province, HCMC will work with the province to bolster coffee processing, production and export, and develop commercial and service centers and cargo transshipment hubs.

The partnership between HCMC and Dak Nong Province is aimed at attracting healthy investors to develop tourism and ramp up the consumption of farm produce.

Besides, the city will partner with Lam Dong Province to develop the service, leisure tourism and hi-tech agriculture fields.

The signing ceremony was held on December 29 within the framework of a conference in Lam Dong Province’s Dalat City to review the 11-year socio-economic partnership between HCMC and Central Highlands provinces.

The partnership has brought about positive results for HCMC and the Central Highlands provinces, contributing to increasing local budget revenue and giving jobs to workers. The cooperation is expected to motivate the Central Highlands region’s socio-economic growth in the coming years, according to the leaders of these provinces.

HCMC Chairman Phan Van Mai said the city would continue partnering with the Central Highlands provinces to improve the investment climate and create more favorable conditions for firms to expand their operations.
