Hanoi intensifies social distancing in extremely-high-risk areas

Must read

HCMC – Hanoi will maintain stringent social distancing measures in areas with an extremely high risk of the pandemic transmission while easing them in areas with a lower risk after September 6.

According to the municipal Party Committee, after September 6, the city will have three groups of areas: extremely-high risk areas, high-risk areas and areas with a risk of the pandemic transmission, the local media reported.

The extremely-high risk areas will apply anti-pandemic measures that are stricter than those in the prime minister’s Directive 16.

In the remaining areas, measures will be less stringent than those in Directive 16 but stricter than those in Directive 15 to recover production and business activities and support the fight against the pandemic in extremely-high risk areas.

The Hanoi government’s Party Civil Affairs Committee was assigned to build a plan to divide areas in a synchronous and scientific manner and prepare sufficient supplies of food, medical equipment and other necessities.

The municipal Department of Construction will establish checkpoints, while the police, military and traffic inspectorate forces will arrange staff at these checkpoints.

In the current fourth Covid-19 wave, which began on April 27, all districts and towns in Hanoi have reported Covid-19 cases. The city currently has six pandemic hotspots with large numbers of Covid-19 cases.

The city has recorded more than 3,300 Covid-19 cases in the current outbreak.
