HCMC – The central city of Danang would return to a new normal from October 15 if the Covid-19 situation remains stable in the city, said a city official.
Speaking at a meeting held today, September 24, Ho Ky Minh, vice chairman of the municipal government, said the city has met Covid control targets set by the municipal anti-Covid authority. As of now, the latest outbreak in the city has been brought under control, with new infections declining.
Accordingly, the city is set to lower the Covid alert level and gradually reopen its economy.
Specifically, to ensure local residents have enough time to build protection against Covid after getting the first shot, the city will switch to adopting less strict anti-virus measures under the Government’s Directive 19 from October 1.
By October 15, if the coronavirus development in the city remains stable, the city would bring life back to the new normal. If the Covid situation turns complicated, the city would impose stricter measures in virus-hit areas.
The city’s top goal is to stay alert to the possibility of new outbreaks and protect the health and safety of people. Besides, the city will focus on restoring the economy, addressing employment issues, ensuring the implementation of social welfare policies and fighting against the virus concurrently, the official said.
