HCMC – The progress of the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Expressway construction has faced significant delays due primarily to slow site clearance and land handover, according to the local authorities.
Although the second component of the expressway got off the ground in June this year, its construction has not advanced as scheduled.
The delay is mainly due to the slow pace of land handover, with only slightly over 13% of the work completed up to this point.
In response to this issue, the Ministry of Transport has recently communicated with the Dong Nai People’s Committee, urging them to accelerate land clearance to facilitate the timely execution of the project.
The 54-kilometer Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Expressway connects the provinces of Dong Nai and Ba Ria-Vung Tau in the southeastern region of Vietnam.
The expressway is designed to have four to six traffic lanes and a maximum speed of 100 kilometers per hour during its first phase, necessitating an initial investment of VND17.8 trillion.
The project is divided into three components, with the first having 16 kilometers in length and undertaken by Dong Nai Province.
The second component, stretching 18 kilometers, is executed by the Ministry of Transport. The third component, spanning nearly 20 kilometers, is carried out by Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province.
