Located in the northernmost region of Vietnam, within the Non Nuoc Cao Bang UNESCO Global Geopark, is a treasure trove of natural wonders awaiting your discovery. Among these captivating landscapes are the majestic God’s Eye Mountain and the awe-inspiring Ban Gioc Waterfalls (featured in the Weekly No. 1676 & 1677). However, today, we invite you to embark on a journey to the heart of serenity, to a hidden gem known as Thang Hen Lake.

Just a drive away from downtown Cao Bang City, travelers can traverse the picturesque route, meandering through Highway No. 3, crossing the Ma Phuc Pass, and following Provincial Road No. 205. This path leads to Thang Hen Lake, where nature’s beauty unfolds in all its glory.

As you approach, you will be greeted by a tranquil oasis, with the lake’s surface resembling a glistening jade mirror. It nestles gracefully amidst the lush canopy of green forest that adorns the mountain slopes, casting a spell of charm and poetry upon all who gaze upon it. From afar, the lake takes on the shape of a grand “bee tail,” a name derived from the local Tay ethnic people’s dialect, which they lovingly call “Thang Hen.”
