HCMC – Danang City in central Vietnam has approved plans to open the Bach Dang Pedestrian Street spanning 1.2 kilometers along the Han River in Hai Chau District.
The pedestrian street, running from the iconic Dragon Bridge to the Tran Thi Ly Bridge, will open daily from 3:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.
At the Nguyen Van Troi Bridge in the nearby area, Danang will organize a number of activities such as lighting decorations, art exhibitions and displays, and stages for performing traditional music and street dance.
The pilot program has two phases, with phase 1 scheduled for 2024, and phase 2 from 2025 to 2028.
Built in 1960, the 513-meter Nguyen Van Troi Bridge is the first bridge to cross over the Han River. It is currently a popular tourist attraction in Danang City.
The efforts are aimed to boost night-time economy and increase visitors to Danang during the upcoming Lunar New Year holiday and other occasions all year round.
