HCMC – The Mekong Delta province of Tien Giang is targeting the completion of site clearance in June to facilitate the construction of the Rach Mieu 2 Bridge.

The site clearance delay in Tien Giang has been one of the primary reasons for the Rach Mieu 2 Bridge project falling behind schedule. The construction project affects 992 organizations, households, and individuals across two districts in Tien Giang, involving a total cleared site of 251,573 square meters.

According to the Tien Giang Department of Natural Resources and Environment, 22 households have yet to receive compensation, totaling over VND72 billion.

Tien Giang Province is also developing a resettlement area in Phuoc Thanh Commune, My Tho City, covering nearly 51,000 square meters and requiring an investment of VND230 billion.

Spanning two kilometers across Tien Giang and Ben Tre provinces, the Rach Mieu 2 Bridge began construction in March 2022. The project requires VND6,810 billion and is expected to be completed in 2026.
