Vietnam, China to enhance bilateral relations

HCMC – Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with Wang Huning, Politburo member of the Communist Party of China and chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, in Hanoi on July 25. The meeting focused on strengthening the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership between the two countries.

Wang, serving as the special envoy of China’s Party General Secretary and President Xi Jinping, led a high-level Chinese delegation to attend the State funeral for General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Chinh said President Xi’s recent visit to the Vietnamese Embassy in China to pay homage to the late Party General Secretary of Vietnam is a symbol of the strong friendship between the two countries.

The PM reaffirmed Vietnam’s consistent policy and top priority in fostering a stable, sustainable, and long-term relationship with China. He noted the positive developments in Vietnam-China relations, particularly the historic mutual visits exchanged by the two Party General Secretaries in 2022 and 2023.

Wang reiterated China’s support for Vietnam’s chosen development path and expressed confidence in the continued strengthening of the traditional friendship between the two nations.

He underscored China’s commitment to deepening the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership with Vietnam and building a Vietnam-China community of a shared future.
