HCMC – Vietnam’s Party General Secretary and State President To Lam rang the opening bell at the National Stock Exchange of India during his visit to Mumbai, highlighting growing financial and investment ties between Vietnam and India.
After concluding activities in New Delhi, Lam departed the Indian capital on the morning of May 7 for a working visit to Mumbai, where he attended a ceremonial bell-ringing session at the exchange and toured its trading, technology and cybersecurity operation centers.
National Stock Exchange Chairman Srinivas Injeti said Vietnam and India, both among Asia’s fastest-growing economies, were entering a new phase of cooperation driven not only by trade but also by capital flows and investment.
As 2026 marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and India, he expressed hope that this visit would be regarded as a milestone marking the transformation of bilateral ties beyond diplomacy into a substantive partnership in markets, capital and business.
The National Stock Exchange of India stands ready to support Vietnam’s capital market development journey and welcomes Vietnamese enterprises seeking opportunities to access capital in India.
