Vinamilk achieves record revenue in Q2

HCMC – Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company (Vinamilk), listed on the Hochiminh Stock Exchange under the ticker VNM, reported record-breaking revenue of nearly VND16.7 trillion in the second quarter of 2024, up by 9.5% year-on-year.

This result is driven by growth in both domestic and international operations, with domestic sales up by 5.8% and international sales up by 29.9% compared to the same period last year.

Vinamilk’s consolidated net profit between April and June neared VND2.7 trillion, an upsurge of 20.9% year-on-year.

In the first half of 2024, the company’s total consolidated revenue reached nearly VND30.8 trillion, up by 5.6% versus the year-ago period and achieving 48.7% of the annual target. Its net profit totaled VND4. trillion, up by 18.6% year-on-year and achieving 52.3% of the annual target.

By the end of Q2 2024, Vinamilk’s total assets amounted to nearly VND54.2 trillion, with a debt-to-assets ratio of 14.7%.

Closing the trading session today, July 31, VNM surged by 5.76% day-on-day to VND71,600, with more than 21.1 million shares transacted.

On the southern bourse, the VN-Index added 6.45 points, or 0.52%, against yesterday’s session, at 1,251.51 points, with 206 winners and 224 losers.

Around 748.9 million shares worth VND17.6 trillion were traded on the bourse, rising by 15% in volume and 28% in value compared to yesterday’s session. Block deal transactions contributed VND2.3 trillion to the overall value, with 63.4 million shares changing hands.

The VN30 basket saw 19 stocks advancing, nine declining, and two moving sideways, driving the basket’s index up by 11.27 points, or 0.88% day-on-day.

VNM was the strongest performer in the VN30 group, followed by HDB with a rise of 3.95% to VND26,300, and GAS with an increase of 3.5% to VND79,900.

On the other hand, PLX and HPG were the biggest decliners as they fell by 2.55% and 2.51%, respectively.

On the northern bourse, the HNX-Index inched down by 0.51 point, or 0.22%, day-on-day, at 235.36 points, with 80 winners and 81 losers. The total trading volume reached 52.9 million shares, valued at VND1.1 trillion.
