HCMC – The National Assembly (NA) passed a resolution today, August 26, approving the appointments of Nguyen Hai Ninh, secretary of the Party Committee of Khanh Hoa Province, as minister of Justice, and Do Duc Duy, secretary of Yen Bai Province’s Party Committee, as minister of Natural Resources and Environment.
Nguyen Hai Ninh, a 48-year-old native of Hung Yen Province, is a member of the current 13th Party Central Committee. He formerly held multiple positions before being appointed as deputy office chief of the Party Central Committee in March 2019. Since April 2021, he had served as secretary of Khanh Hoa Province’s Party Committee.
Do Duc Duy, a 54-year-old native of Thai Binh Province, is a member of the 13th Party Central Committee and a deputy of the current 15th National Assembly.
Duy was formerly a structural design engineer and a lecturer at Hanoi University of Architecture and later worked at the Ministry of Construction. From 2017 to 2020, he served as chairman of the Yen Bai Province People’s Committee, and since then, he has held the post of secretary of the Party Committee of Yen Bai.
Nguyen Hai Ninh’s predecessor is Le Thanh Long who had been promoted to the post of deputy prime minister.
Do Duc Duy’s predecessor is Dang Quoc Khanh, who was relieved from the post of Minister of Natural Resources and Environment by the National Assembly at its extraordinary session held today, August 26.
On August 3, Dang Quoc Khanh was removed from the presdent 13th Party Central Committee as proposed by the Organization Commission of the Party Central Committee.
