HCMC – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has urged contractors of the Dong Dang-Tra Linh Expressway project to ensure the project is completed by the end of this year.

The PM visited the expressway construction site this morning, February 2, to encourage workers, present Tet gifts, and inspect the progress of the expressway, which links the northern provinces of Lang Son and Cao Bang, according to the Government news site (baochinhphu.vn).

The Dong Dang-Tra Linh Expressway, whose construction commenced on January 1, 2024, has a total length of 121 kilometers and is being developed in two phases at a total cost of over VND47 trillion.

The project is overseen by the government of Cao Bang Province and implemented by a consortium of investors led by Deo Ca Group.

The expressway’s phase one covers over 93 kilometers with a total investment of VND14.1 trillion, with state funding making up 69.43% of the total.

It begins at the Tan Thanh border gate interchange in Van Lang District, Lang Son Province, and ends at the National Highway No.3 interchange in Chi Thao Commune, Quang Hoa District, Cao Bang Province.

Local authorities and agencies are in the process of completing procedures for the construction of six resettlement areas and relocation of technical infrastructure at 22 high-voltage locations, with progress largely meeting the required timeline.

Regarding the progress, the Prime Minister urged the investors and contractors to accelerate work to complete this expressway within this year.

Once completed, this expressway will shorten travel time between Cao Bang and Hanoi from 6-7 hours to about 3.5 hours. The project will create opportunities for the socio-economic and cultural development of Cao Bang and Lang Son provinces, connecting the northeastern border region with Hanoi and the country’s economic hubs.
