HCMC – Dong Thap Province has begun work on the VND6.12-trillion My An-Cao Lanh expressway.

The groundbreaking ceremony for the first phase of the expressway project was held this morning, July 26, by the Ministry of Construction and the government of Dong Thap, reported the Vietnam News Agency.

The 27-kilometer expressway is funded by the South Korean government’s official development assistance (ODA) and domestic sources.

While the project will initially feature a four-lane road, land clearance is being done in line with a six-lane master plan to accommodate future expansion.

Scheduled for completion in 2028, the expressway will link with major expressways such as Cao Lanh-An Huu, Cao Lanh-Lo Te, and Lo Te-Rach Soi, contributing to the development of the western expressway corridor in the Mekong Delta region.

Currently, over 95% of the land clearance has been completed, and Dong Thap has approved the volume of sand needed for construction.

The project also contributes to the national goal of completing 5,000 kilometers of expressway by 2030.
