HCMC — Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh arrived in Vientiane today, December 2, to begin a visit to Laos, reported the Vietnam News Agency.
Chinh’s delegation landed at Wattay International Airport at 9:30 a.m. local time. During the visit, Chinh will co-chair the 48th session of the Vietnam-Laos Intergovernmental Committee with the Lao PM. He will hold bilateral meetings and co-host the Vietnam-Laos Economic Forum.
The intergovernmental session will review progress on the Vietnam-Laos Cooperation Plan for 2021-2025 and the year 2025. Delegates will also discuss cooperation priorities and tasks for 2026-2030.
Vietnam and Laos, which established diplomatic relations over 60 years ago, have sought to strengthen political, defense, security, and economic cooperation. High-level exchanges and joint projects aim to deepen strategic ties between the two countries.
Chinh’s visit is intended to implement high-level agreements and advance the Vietnam-Laos relationship.
