HCMC – The sixth Dong Hoa Hiep Ancient Village Cultural and Tourism Festival is taking place from December 3 to 7, featuring a re-creation of the iconic Cai Be Floating Market, a hallmark of southern Vietnam’s traditional culture and trade.
This year’s event, themed “Memories of the Ancient Village,” aims to preserve and promote the architectural and cultural heritage of Dong Hoa Hiep Ancient Village in Dong Thap Province. The festival also seeks to support local households engaged in tourism and strengthen community involvement in sustainable tourism development.
Organizers say the festival, combined with cultural and artistic activities, will help enhance Dong Thap’s tourism offerings and highlight the province’s distinctive tourism products.

The event also serves as a platform to showcase the historical and cultural values of Dong Hoa Hiep Ancient Village and to promote the image of Dong Thap and its people to domestic and international visitors.
This year’s program includes several activities, such as a heritage journey connecting culture, tourism, and craft villages; the development of tourism products for Dong Hoa Hiep Ancient Village; a digital journey exploring the village’s heritage; a culinary showcase of Mekong Delta cuisine; and a village gate storytelling contest.
The highlight of the festival will be the re-enactment of the Cai Be Floating Market, designed to attract more visitors to Cai Be Commune and Dong Thap Province.
