HCMC – A two-day State funeral for former General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Le Kha Phieu begins today, August 14, with the ceremony to pay respects set to start from 8:00 a.m. at the National Funeral Hall, No. 5 Tran Thanh Tong Street, Hanoi.
The memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on August 15 at the National Funeral Hall, followed by the burial ceremony at 2 p.m. on the same day at the Mai Dich Cemetery in the capital city.
At the same time, the ceremony to pay respects and memorial ceremonies for former Party Chief Le Kha Phieu will also be held at the Thong Nhat Hall in HCMC and the 25B Hall on Quang Trung Street, Thanh Hoa Province, the former Party chief’s hometown.
During the two-day State funeral, national flags will be flown at half mast at offices and public places and entertainment activities will be suspended.
