ACB wants to issue VND20 trillion bonds via private placement

HCMC – Asia Commercial Bank (HOSE: ACB) has announced plans to issue bonds via private placement to raise up to VND20 trillion.

According to a resolution approved by the bank’s board of directors, up to 200,000 bonds will be launched in the first tranche of 2025, with each carrying a face value of VND100 million. The bonds will have a maximum tenure of five years and will be issued in 10 separate rounds.

The bonds will be non-convertible, unsecured, non-warranted or and will not be classified as ACB’s subordinated debt. ACB plans to sell the bonds through issuing agents and direct placements to investors.

The bonds will come with annual coupon payments.

ACB said that the proceeds from this bond sale will be used for lending, investment and meeting regulatory safety requirements set by the State Bank of Vietnam.

Closing the trading session today, March 18, ACB rose by 0.38% against the previous session to VND26,300, with more than six million shares changing hands.

On the southern exchange, the VN-Index lost 5.29 points, or 0.4%, against the previous day, to close at 1,330.97 points, with 160 winners and 318 losers.

More than 903.3 million shares worth VND19.7 trillion were traded, down by 7% in volume and 5% in value compared to yesterday’s session. Block deal transactions contributed around VND2.3 trillion to the overall value.

The VN30 basket saw 21 stocks decline, but the drops were not significant. VPB led the losses, falling nearly 2% to VND19,750. Following were VHM, STB, MSN, VRE, CTG, VIC, and MBB, with slight decreases ranging from 1% to 1.7%.

On the other hand, SHB shares rose by 3.1% to VND11,550. It led the market in trading volume, with nearly 72 million shares exchanged.

On the northern exchange, the HNX-Index added 0.26 point, or 0.11%, over the day earlier to end at 247.03 points, with 80 advancers and 84 decliners. The total trading volume exceeded 47.6 million shares, valued at VND847.7 billion.
