HCMC – Australian flavors will take center stage in Vietnam as the “Taste of Australia 2025,” highlighting premium Australian ingredients while strengthening bilateral ties between the two nations.
The program, organized by the Australian Consulate General in HCMC throughout March and April, aims to promote Australia’s world-class food and beverage industry while fostering collaboration between the two countries’ culinary sectors.
Speaking at the media launch of Taste of Australia 2025 on March 11, Sarah Hooper, Australia’s Consul General in HCMC, emphasized the program’s significance. The event is more than just a culinary festival; it celebrates the cultural and economic bonds between the two nations.

March marks the first anniversary of Vietnam and Australia upgrading their ties to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Over the years, both countries have pledged to deepen cooperation in key sectors, including trade, investment, education, and innovation. The 2024 bilateral trade volume between Vietnam and Australia reached AUD22.1 billion (USD14 billion).
Ngo Thanh Hoa, the winner of MasterChef Vietnam 2013, leads the initiative as the Taste of Australia Champion for 2025. Hoa said that this is a great opportunity to showcase high-quality Australian ingredients to Vietnamese diners and inspire the next generation of chefs.

Taste of Australia 2025 features a series of promotional events, culinary competitions, and trade exhibitions throughout March and April. The program partners with 29 restaurants in HCMC to present Australian fresh produce and food products to Vietnamese consumers. A cooking competition on April 12 will see young chefs from local culinary schools compete for professional training and internship opportunities.
