Azerai La Residence, Hue has been recognized among Vietnam’s top upcountry hotels and named home to the country’s best hotel general manager, according to the Travel + Leisure Luxury Awards Asia Pacific 2025.
General Manager Phan Trong Minh received the top individual honor during a June 18 ceremony in Bangkok, commended for his three decades in hospitality and leadership in cultural, environmental, and wellness initiatives rooted in local tradition.
This marks the third consecutive year Azerai La Residence has been honored by the magazine, with two previous No. 1 finishes in the same hotel category. The editors praised Minh’s role in positioning the heritage property as a destination blending “worldly luxury and local soul.”
Housed in a 1930s colonial mansion, the 122-room hotel is distinguished by its streamlined modern art deco architecture.
The hotel was also recently named one of Vietnam’s top 16 hotels for 2025 by The Times of London. Azerai La Residence is part of legendary hotelier Adrian Zecha’s Azerai portfolio, which includes Azerai Ke Ga Bay in southern Vietnam.
