HCMC – Cooking gas prices in southern Vietnam have been reduced by VND20,000–30,000 for a 12kg cylinder, reported local media.
The market has seen a broad downward adjustment, with suppliers also increasing discounts for distributors.
From April 13, VT Gas lowered prices by VND1,667 per kilogram, including VAT. A 12kg cylinder now sells for VND619,000 in HCMC, while a 45kg cylinder is priced at VND2.32 million, equal to a cut of VND20,000 and VND75,000, respectively.
Long Yin Energy Long An, which owns Gas City Petro, Vinapacific Petro and Vimexco, also cut prices by VND1,667 per kilogram from 7:30 a.m. on April 13. The company quotes 6kg cylinders at VND343,500 (down VND10,000), 12kg cylinders at VND627,500 (down VND20,000), 45kg cylinders at VND2.35 million (down VND75,000), and 50kg cylinders at VND2.61 million (down VND83,000).
Alongside direct cuts, major suppliers increased commissions for distributors to push retail prices lower.
