HCMC – The government of the northern mountainous province of Bac Kan has proposed developing the 90-kilometer Bac Kan-Cao Bang road project, with a total cost of VND9.6 trillion.
A representative of the Ministry of Transport said today, November 11, that the provincial government sought to develop the road to connect it with the Thai Nguyen-Bac Kan section of National Highway 3.
Of the total capital, VND9 trillion for the construction cost will be sourced from the central Government’s budget and VND600 billion for compensation and resettlement will come from the province’s budget.
The development of the road project will be based on the Hanoi-Thai Nguyen-Bac Kan-Cao Bang route project approved by the prime minister.
The road will be developed into an expressway after 2030, the local media reported.
Once in place, the road will help ease the overload facing National Highway 3 and increase the road capacity for vehicles.
Many parts of National Highway 3 have deteriorated, posing a threat to traffic safety.
