HCMC – A festival featuring heritage sites will be held in the northern province of Bac Ninh from March 27 to 31.

During the opening ceremony on March 27, Dong Ho Folk Painting Craft Village will get a certificate for the craft of making Dong Ho folk paintings being recognized as intangible cultural heritage in need of urgent safeguarding by the UNESCO.

The event will coincide with the announcement of the Yen Tu-Vinh Nghiem-Con Son-Kiep Bac landscape complex as a UNESCO-recognized World Heritage site.

The festival will feature diverse activities such as an exhibition titled “A Colorful Journey of Regional Heritage” and a pilgrimage to Vinh Nghiem Pagoda. Notably, an exhibition dedicated to Vietnamese folk paintings and the honoring of Dong Ho art will be held at the Dong Ho Folk Painting Conservation Center from March 27 to 30.

On December 9, 2025, in New Delhi, India, the UNESCO inscribed the Dong Ho folk painting craft on the list of intangible cultural heritage in need of urgent safeguarding. The organization will provide crucial support for protecting skills and knowledge at risk of fading, while engaging younger generations and the wider community in its preservation.
