HCMC – Investigators of the Daklak Police Department have asked banks to prevent the transactions of Trinh Quang Tri, director of the provincial Center for Disease Control (CDC).
Banks in Daklak must prevent Tri from withdrawing and transferring money from his accounts and list out Tri’s transactions since January 1, 2020, so that the police can freeze Tri’s accounts, the local media reported.
The Daklak investigative police agency has been investigating the provincial CDC’s procurement of Covid-19 test kits manufactured by Viet A Technology Corporation in 2021. The procurement showed signs of irregularities in the bidding, causing serious consequences.
The Daklak CDC had bought some 20,000 Covid test kits from Viet A at VND367,000 each and had paid some VND7 billion to Viet A. The center later continued to buy test kits from Viet A, but the volume was not disclosed and the payment has yet to be made.
