HCMC – The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has written to the provincial tourism departments asking them to quickly map out plans to fully reopen the tourism sector from March 15.

Deploying the directive issued by Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam on the restart of tourism services from March 15, the ministry urged the provincial tourism authorities to consult with their local governments about tourism reopening plans and guidelines.

The tourism departments were told to put forward solutions to address risks and problems facing the reopening of tourism, and focus on supporting travel firms to improve the quality of tourism services and develop new products to meet customer demand.

Besides, the local departments should enhance their tourism promotion activities to introduce tourist sites and diversify tourism services and products in cooperation with enterprises to attract domestic and international visitors.

In addition, the local tourism departments were tasked with giving tourist destinations and tourism service providers guidelines on the safe reopening.

Vietnam will fully reopen tourism from March 15, removing all mobility restrictions and allowing eligible tourists to enter the country.

Travelers aged over 12 to Vietnam are required to show proof of Covid-19 vaccination or recovery from the disease and of negative test result.

All foreign tourists entering Vietnam must install and activate at least one medical control app and be covered with Covid travel insurance with a minimum of US$10,000.
