Binh Dien wholesale market suspended amid coronavirus concern

Must read

HCMC – District 8 of HCMC has ordered the suspension of the Binh Dien wholesale market starting 8 a.m. today, July 6, as Covid-19 infections reported at the market have affected some districts of the city and many other provinces.

The market’s management board was asked to halt trading activities at the market until the market meets the anti-Covid-19 requirements. The board also has to ensure commodities will be removed from the market before 8 p.m. today at the latest.

Besides this, it has to inform wholesalers of the suspension so that they can take measures to cope with the new situation and shift to selling commodities online.

The board also has to disinfect the whole market and team up with the HCMC Department of Industry and Trade and District 8 to work out anti-Covid-19 plans once the market resumes operations.

Yesterday, the market conducted rapid Covid-19 tests and issued Covid-19 negative test certificates to over 14,000 customers and traders so that they could enter the market.

Earlier, the Hoc Mon wholesale market in the outlying district of the same name suspended operations from June 28 to July 15 to serve the Covid-19 fight.
