HCMC – Bulgarian President Rumen Radev arrived in HCMC on November 27, the final day of his four-day official visit to Vietnam, to strengthen cooperation between the two countries.
Radev participated in a business forum organized by the HCMC Investment and Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) and Bulgarian partners, bringing together over 250 businesses from both countries.
The forum provided a platform to explore potential partnerships in sectors such as automation, logistics, and renewable energy.
Radev emphasized the strong bonds between Vietnam and Bulgaria, highlighting the role of the Vietnamese community in Bulgaria in fostering bilateral ties.
He called for deeper cooperation beyond traditional trade, urging both countries to collaborate on research, technology development, and joint production initiatives.
Vo Van Hoan, vice chairman of the HCMC People’s Committee, said the city has become a destination of choice for foreign direct investment, emphasizing its young and dynamic workforce, robust infrastructure, and strategic geographic location. He also noted HCMC’s focus on innovation and entrepreneurship.
“The city is committed to creating a favorable environment for Bulgarian businesses,” said Hoan. “We are confident that the cooperation between our two countries will continue to flourish in the years to come.”
Earlier on the same day, Radev held talks with Nguyen Van Nen, secretary of the HCMC Party Committee, at the Reunification Palace in District 1 to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation. The two leaders witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement between HCMC and Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria.
Radev also visited the HCMC Union of Friendship Organizations (HUFO) and met with Vietnamese individuals who had studied and worked in Bulgaria. He and his wife later took a water bus on the Saigon River.
