HCMC – Authorities in Ca Mau Province have launched a campaign to finish site clearance for the Ca Mau–Dat Mui Expressway by December 15, ensuring all affected households hand over land on schedule and receive compensation.

The provincial government announced the initiative at a ceremony on November 25, according to the Vietnam News Agency. The program also covers the road leading to Hon Khoai Island and the Hon Khoai Port project.

During the campaign period, officials are required to implement all directives related to construction, compensation, and land clearance. All affected households must hand over their land on time and receive compensation as regulated. Local authorities are also tasked with resolving all petitions and complaints promptly and addressing any remaining obstacles in the compensation process.

Speaking at the event, the chairman of the provincial People’s Committee asked the Vietnam Fatherland Front, mass organizations, and local authorities to step up public communication efforts to encourage residents to hand over land as scheduled. He also urged relevant departments to closely monitor progress and promptly remove bottlenecks. Local communes along the project route were told to work directly with households to ensure timely compensation and resettlement support.

The Ca Mau–Dat Mui Expressway, together with the road and port projects linked to Hon Khoai Island, runs through several communes, including Ho Thi Ky, Khanh An, Khanh Binh, Luong The Tran, Hung My, Cai Nuoc, Phu My, Nguyen Viet Khai, Dat Moi, and Dat Mui.

Authorities have completed land surveys involving six organizations and more than 1,650 affected households, with roughly 741 hectares of land to be reclaimed for the project.
