HCMC – The Ministry of Transport has approved a plan for the major component of the Can Tho-Hau Giang expressway project in the Mekong Delta, with a total cost of VND7,966 billion.
The project is divided into three components, with the main one being implemented through the direct appointment of a contractor.
The construction is scheduled to be completed in 1,020 days.
The Can Tho-Hau Giang expressway spans 37 kilometers with a total investment of VND10,370 billion, connecting Cai Rang District in Can Tho City with Vi Thuy District in Hau Giang Province.
The road and the Hau Giang-Ca Mau section, which stretches more than 73 kilometers and costs VND17,150 billion, are two components of the Can Tho-Ca Mau expressway project.
Both projects are parts of the eastern North-South expressway construction for 2021-2025.
The ministry has appointed the My Thuan Project Management Board as the investor for the projects.
The local authorities of Can Tho City, Hau Giang, Bac Lieu, Kien Giang and Ca Mau are responsible for the compensation and relevant processes.
