Danang City, August 13, 2022 – Coca-Cola Beverages Vietnam Limited (Coca-Cola Vietnam) in partnership with the People’s Committee of Danang City today inaugurates “For a Vietnam without Waste” event at EKOCENTER Community Center Danang, Lien Chieu District. The event welcomes the participation of representatives from Danang’s Department of Natural Resources and Environment (DoNRE) and Department of Industry and Trade (DoIT), the People’s Committee of Lien Chieu District, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), the Vietnam Business Council for Sustainable Development (VBCSD), and local community in the area.

This is one of the outstanding events organized by Coca-Cola Vietnam and local authorities in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) and Danang City, under a World Without Waste vision. With many meaningful activities in a half-day event, “For a Vietnam Without Waste” event aims to raise public awareness about waste sorting, encourage people to use reusable bags, and thus promote a green lifestyle and sustainable production and consumption. On this occasion, Coca-Cola Vietnam hands over 90 segregation trash bins to Danang’s DoNRE and 4,000 reusable bags to DoIT worth a total of VND700 million. The in-kind sponsorship will help local authorities to propagate about the new regulations in the Environmental Protection Law application.

To attract families and young people to join hands to collect plastic waste for recycling, the event encourages attendees to bring used plastic bottles to exchange for their favorite Coca-Cola products. These bottles and cans collected at the event then will be hand-made into lanterns for local underprivileged children thanks to the Woman Union and the Youth Union of Hoa Minh Ward. Attendees can also enjoy an exhibition of winning projects in “A New Life of Waste” contest finale, where the most outstanding and effective recycling ideas are demonstrated. Dat Maniac Rapper also joins this event to share about his new project of collecting waste for music CDs and spreading good vibes to environmentalists there.
