HCMC – Vietnam encountered more than 13,750 cyberattacks last year, which indicated many businesses and organizations remained vulnerable, said the Vietnam ICT Press Club and the National Cybersecurity Association.

Speaking at a recent meeting in Hanoi, experts predicted a further rise in cyberattacks, with hackers targeting major information systems.

One major issue highlighted by experts is the lack of cybersecurity awareness among most businesses. Many organizations are slow to adopt essential cybersecurity practices, only prioritizing cybersecurity after experiencing a breach.

To address these challenges, agencies, organizations, and businesses are urged to urgently take cybersecurity measures.

This includes assessing and organizing information security according to designated levels, implementing effective cybersecurity models, developing contingency plans, and backing up data regularly.

Expanding cybersecurity training for employees and fostering information sharing and cooperation within the cybersecurity sector are also considered crucial steps toward enhancing protection against cyber threats.
